Swimming Swimming is one of the most popular sports in the world. It is used as a therapy, taught for lifesaving purposes and as an Olympic sports. Popular water sports include competitive swimming, diving, surfing, synchronized swimming, underwater diving and water polo. There are 4 main styles in swimming: breaststroke, butterfly, backstroke and crawl. Swimming has been practiced since around 2500 BC in Egypt and later in Assyria, Greece and Rome. It was part of elementary education for boys alongside martial training and alphabet. Competitive swimming was introduced in the First Modern Olympics in 1896. Women's swimming event were added in 1912.
Krav Maga Krav Maga (contact combat) is an Israeli martial art. Developed for the Israel Defense Forces it is derived from a combination of techniques used in aikido, judo, karate, boxing, and wrestling. It is known for its focus on real-world situations and its extreme efficiency. Like most martial arts, Krav Maga encourages students to avoid physical confrontation. If this is impossible or unsafe, it promotes finishing a fight as quickly and aggressively as possible. Attacks are aimed at the most vulnerable parts of the body.
